Go straight to a W55, the T50 may last but not if you actually use the 250hp. Source a 3T-GTE flywheel, clutch and bellhousing.

yea i was going to do that but i just wanted to use the t50 because of the lightness and the ratios, i was going to use 3t flywheel and get a 3puc brass centre made with the 2t clutch centre and biger presureplate.

As said, the T50 wont last that long with 250hp. Look at a W series.

IMO no you'll blow it, they dont seem to like being treated to turbo engines, launches or being thrashed. and the 3 puk will certainly help destroy it.
T50's are fetching good money these days, id sell it and buy a w series,
there are a few different ratios available thru the range.

if your worried about the weight difference up the boost.

I disagree, there is nothing wrong with the old t50, but at the end of the day it will come down to how you drive, and how much traction you can get. Ive got about 200hp in my ke25 for last 5 years and the t50 hasnt skipped a beat...but car is light and traction is a small issue, and i dont do massive 7k clutch drops. so thats my 2c....

BTW Ive got some 2tg turbo parts in my shed, a sump modified with oil drain, and a 3tgteu vacum/boost advance/retard diaphram modified to the 2tgeu dizzy if you only want to run fuel only (aka old link, or 3tgte computer, I also have an EMX tuned for a 3tgte fuel only, but im not sure if it goes, im running a v5 now).

Cheers

I know guys who have raced T50s behind full race 4age motors for 5 to 7 seasons. Ask Chelles about her old AE85/86 racecar they used a K50 for 3 seasons before it died!
If you race you load up the gearbox and drive train against the handbrake and slip the clutch as you launch. This is "relatively" gentle on the gearbox.
If you have the habit of:
- dropping the clutch at 7,000rpm
- kicking the clutch
- compression locking to get the tail out
- or any other drift/burnout or burnout techniques
The poor T50 will die!
If you are kind to machinery, keep the T50
If you give your car death, set yourself up with a W55/57 (selling the T50 and bellhousing will set you up with a Niteparts 4age to W bellhousing).

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Might as well throw the diff away and get a Hilux diff for it as well then.

The diff may be so strong but it comes down to how you treat them, take it from me Ben. The T series diff will only handle so much abuse and with alot of horsepower behind it the chances of it lasting long will be very slim

t50 wont last, dad used on his escort with 240hp and they had to make 2nd 3rd 4th into dog gears while doing all these other crazy mods to the gear box which cost around $5k, after that it did last ages with 240hp.
Then when he built his new engine with 300hp it just rooted the gears and once snapped the MAIN SHAFT 8O .
So he just bought w series box and made the whoel thing into a dog box :D
