Engine Suggestions

Postby overcast » Thu Jan 05, 2006 2:54 pm

Basically I am wanting to get rid of my underpowered non-turbo 2L (2.4 lt) Desiel out of my 1985 Ln 56 Hilux and have had alot of trouble sourcing a 1ggeu. Anyone else have any other suggestions on a "bolt-in" engine for this model of hilux? I'm on a budget also which kinda sucks.

Heh, people who still pay for milage :P

Well it'll be a cheaper effort sticking with a diesel. Are you wanting some decent performance out of it or just as a slightly gruntier hack?

You're wanting an improvement and you've been thinking of putting a 1GGE in??

If you were gonna chuck one of those in, then go for a 1JZGTE.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Lexus V8's are all of $1300 lately - its a hell of a cheap engine considering what you get for it! Plus, its been done before, so no head scratchers.
