yea just wanted a quick answer.
its a farm honda quad bike. i know water obvious but you know how they put the foam sheet around the filter (dusty as farm conditions) your suppose to soak that in oil before you put it back in so all dust clings to it.
so obviously when you go to clean it its gona be pretty greasy, thus i dont think waters gona do jack.

k&n filter cleaner, its just a HONDA farm hack.

so yea anyone else know of a product that cleans greasy foam and is a highflash point.???? :?:

just give it a good wash with dish washing liquid maybe but i dont know if that would have any adverse affects on the filter..

Yeah, I'd say give it a soak in diesel, squeeze out the excess, then throw it back in..

Kerosene.
Has a high flashpoint
High flash point means that it needs a relatively high temperature before it will begine to burn/explode. They are recommending you use a high flashpoint solvent as it will be safer.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

If its a foam filter then why don't you buy a KnN filter kit. Comes with oil and a detergent.
The prefilter is supposed to be dry, the inner element is oiled.

Wash it in Kero and gently ring it out, then warm soapy water and rinse well, wait for it to dry and then use filter oil in a plastic bag (to keep ya hand clean) and install again. :D

And oil it using filter oil. They dont filter rocks let alone dirt without oil.
