blacktop into silvertop

looking into getting some blacktop parts into my silvertop.

cams, cam gears valve springs. wondering how much effort will be needed to be doing that ? will i need to take the whole engine out to need to put in to ? or what ? any help will be good.

Cams/springs/pulleys will not make much difference.... cam/pulleys efffort is similar to cambelt job, but to change valve springs is extra hassle + probalby they are same items anyway...unless you want to go aftermarket (in this case if it is daily driven car, the valve spring alone will put a lot of stress on cam belt / cam belt idlers)...

There are differences in the Silvertop / Blacktop spring set. Although I havent compared them I would suspect its in either lenght or diameter not spring rate. It wont give you any performance advantage even if it would work.

Engine won't need to be removed, and it should be relitively simplistic to swap cams and pulleys over.

all the collets retainers etc etc are the same
the only thing different is the springs.

im guessing your looking at a way to beat ya cousins blacktop?

you want to be doing things like the pistons etc.....

Changing the Silvertop cams with Blacktop cams would yield a small increase in torque - a change that you will feel. But on peak power, not much.
