AW11 - what color?

Postby Malcolm » Fri Jan 13, 2006 11:35 pm

with an aw11 in dire need of a paint job soon likely to come into our hands, we are trying to decide what colour to paint it, so, here's some sample pics:
Black

Red

Blue (no I wont be fitting the 7 kit  )

Note- I will be doing a plain paint job - ie no metallics, pearls, candies etc on this one, just needs to be quick and cheap.

Red is good. I don't like the blue. Black is...too dark.

You dont want a black car... PITA to keep clean. :?

You clean it...

Then you look over there ->

And then its dirty already. :?

Althoug in saying that, no one would have been able to convince me out of painting my car black at the time, It just had to be done. 8)

I dont regret it, it looks pretty good, but I wouldnt do it again.

IMO, white = win for the AW11.

White with a nice pearl or something over the top to set it off would look mint. 8)

Yeah sure, heaps of AW11s are white, but how many have really nice, mint looking paint? 8)

I already have two-tone on the sw11, I don't want to go making a habit out of it.

White is too boring without a pearl or something, and as I said I'm not doing anything fancy on this one (I will most probably be painting it outside...)

How about something like the sherwood green found on some AWs? Just not the 2 tone part of it...

Black.

Or glittery blueprint blue with no clearcoat ;)

Yup I reckon that would look good, or maybe an even slightly darker green. Either that or black.
