Engine transplant

Postby touge rolla » Sun Jan 15, 2006 5:47 pm

Just wanted some suggestions as to which engine should replace the 4AF in my ae92 corolla sedan. was thinking blacktop 4age but am now inclined towards 4agze so i can hav torque throughout the rev range. also considering 3sgte or 2zzge.

What do you want to spend?
How much free time do you have?
Are you planning on upgrading the rest of the car (brakes, suspension etc)?
How long do you want to be stuck with the car for?

Dont waste your time.
A 20V turbo will be cheaper easier and better.

Yes I am upgrading tha suspension and brakes first, i'd kill myself otherwise, which brings me to my next point does anyone have any idea wher i could find some brakes which would fit the 15" mags nicely????
yes but would not it be easier to start with the 4agze, then source a 20v cylinder head and upgrade to turbo?????? i may be wrong

No.

The only difference between a 20V and a GZE from the cylinder head down is the pistons.

Why buy a $1500 GZE ( if you can find one to buy) when you can buy a 20V for $300 and pistons for $600.
Crank, rods and block are the same so...............
