Help... my levin won't go into gear!

Postby kernalz » Mon Jan 16, 2006 1:09 pm

Hey ppl,

My Ae92 levin seems to be having a bit of trouble. It wont change into any gear when the engine is turned on. When trying to go into reverse it just graunches but any other gear it just won't go. When I turn the car off and put it in reverse and try to start it, it now won't start and feels like i dont have the clutch in at all, when infact i do.

This is probaly a common problem but i'm not the smartest when it comes to this kind of thing. I topped up the clutch oil but this didn't make any difference.

Do i need a new clutch or what??

Cheers,

David.

Your clutch plate is stuffed. You may have slipped a spring out from it and it is jammed between the clutch plate and flywheel or pressure plate. I did the exact same thing at the Megameet 05 in my BZR.

You will need a new complete clutch kit and get the flywheel machined.

But it didn't all happen straight away. It started off just not going into 2nd sometimes and gradually got worse until it wonmt go into any gear. Also last night i got it home by starting it in gear with the clutch in but when i went to look at it this morning this wouldnt work.

Is this still the solution?

you may want to look into how it got there.... you probabaly have a leak some where

I would hazard a guess that what happenened was his fluid got that low that it got air bubbles slowly over time, then when he filled it up funnily enough the bubbles still stayed in the system.
Actually happened to me once before in an old car i had, damned master cylinder was that dirty it looked like it was full, untill the lid came off and i had a look inside :?
