Tube/pipe benders?

Right, I need to do some bending of round piping up to about 35mm diameter

Does anyone know any places that either hire mechanical benders, or perhaps does someone have access to one they want to share with me or something? At the moment I only need to do it a little bit, but in future I will need to do quite a bit more so I would like to find a good solution to this, other than going to pitstop and getting them to do it (or something)

Most likely between $500-1000 with tooling for a decent tubing bender.

Chevpac sell the Record brand benders for $860+gst but you have to buy the formers for each size you want to bend, and they cost $1-200 each

I might have a go at making one sometime. I was looking at a DIY one that some guy made and it was really mint looking, although I would probably do it more like the SULCO one because it looks much easier to do

we have a hydraulic press bender at work.. in tauranga cost about $15,000. shes called the blue bullet and an awesome piece of equipment for fabricating exhaust etc abit far from u tho.

if your talking for rollcages or supports the ones you want are the rolling mandrel type
they dont crush the tube like cheap hydrilic benders

but yeah i belive that is what five bob is talking about
last one i kew of bought was about 1200 + mandrels

nah I'm not talking about doing roll cages. I can't imagine the mess I'd make trying to weld something like that into a car

It's just for coolant piping and other miscellaneous non-structural type things

tradezone stores have a kit for doing that for about 400 bucks
and its a rotating madrel type its just vice mounted

We built a roll cage with a jack type bender, worked really well but was very time consuming, we had to bend the pipe a tiny bit then slide it through the bender a little bit, then repeat. Took ages but the end result was awsome.

We do a range of benders where I work, at Topmaq. Most popular is a 12 ton hydraulic bender, I think the sizes it can do ranges from 20mm right up to 51mm, it has cast formers to suit, with aluminium formers available as optional extras. Costs $313, I can do discounts as well.

Otherwise, we have a small benchtop mounted unit, which is better suiting to doing the thinner stuff, as it isn't hydraulic, it simply relies on brute strength and a big $&#$% lever. Price escapes me at the present but it's circa high $300's..... Also have a unit VERY similar to that Sulco one you posted, once again price escapes me....

damn straight! the beauty of building your own is that designed right, it would also be a press for pulleys, bearings etc.
