get an aftermarket ECU, tune it hard

and

it b extreme

cos i had a 20v corolla, but starlet = lighter and RWD

but the ECU makes a huge difference

I like the cruise control in the soarer.. its in a good position too

There was a centrifugal supercharger on trade me. Perfect for a soarer. Exactly like a turbo but runs of the crank pulley. $2250... all parts in perfect condition... Unfortuantely i cant find the auction for it..

Its such a bargain! You would pay 4k at least new for this. However would fit it somewere in the soarers engine bay i wonder? they are a bit tight for space..

Still it wouldnt be as complicated as installing a top mount screw/root charger !

This is my opinion and from what ive seen in diagrams etc: A centrifugal s/c is fitted in like a turbo setup but has a belt powering it and is mounted with a simple bracket. (in line with the crank pully so the belt can line up straight to the supercharger) Seems rather straight forward to me..

A top mount root or screw charger is mounted on top and involves taking off the intake plenum or something and customing making a mount for the charger to fit the engine... rather expensive on a v8 id think?.. Im no expert as ive never done it :lol:

but on this soarer site it looked rather time consuming and complicated from the pics when fitting this kind of supercharger to a soarer...

Id dont know about you but, id rather not take my car appart this much... Looks alot more work involved than fitting a turbo like device on to the air intake piping.. so therefore more complicated.

Not to mention, superchargers belong between the banks

As i said in one of my last post, the v8 soarers engine bay is rather tight for room. Id image you would have to putt the battery in the boot to make space for the charger? Just an idea... You would definately have to move something. Even still i wonder if there would be enough space..

Yes, the top mount chargers are the best ones, plus have more even torque across the rev range... But they are at least twice the price of a centrifugal charger from prices ive seen. Centrifugals are more affordable i suppose and do the same thing except have lower torque in lower revs...

The M90 and a few others fit easily under the bonnet without cutting.....

Either way if we want to discuss supercharging Soarers we should start a new thread instead of stealing Uterus'

And the exhaust needs to be modified for a top mount??

and if you really want to be picky, the exhaust should be modified for both since the standard exhaust manifold is 'orrible. So much for the new thread idea :oops:

Also, another "Any other kits available" over here

and do they butcher the factory lights for that kit??

Yeah i was think Aston Martin too with that shape of grill.

The back is rather strange, sort of looks like an Alfa or something as you said... hmmm

Also on the back the badge looks lke Maserati one.

I wouldnt call it ugly, its just really different.

Just goes to show how kits are subject to personal taste - personally i love that kit as its something a little different :-)

If you find another kit you want I can try track it down for you....
