Can I hook my ipod up instead of the cd player?

Ok iv just got an ipod nano and i was wonder if theres sum way i can hook it up. See ive got a pretty old sony cd, tuner, tape player. And it comes in two peices the tape player/tuner part and the cd part, their hooked up together with two rcas one input one output and a "bus line in"? i think. Is there neway i can get the ipod to be the input? it didnt work when i just hooked it up using the headfone jack to rca cable, the headunit didnt reconise there being a cd.

the sony bus system has to be hooked up in order to recognise external inputs. unfortunately it doesn't work any other way.
So plug in the bus unit plug to the tuner and keep the cd player in there as well connected to the power. Then plug in your nano into the inputs and ensure that you have an old cd in the cd player as you will play the cd and receive the nano musical input..

Wicked! thanks. Next question can you get a switchable rca plug, like two rca inputs but only one output but which was a switch to switch between them? God dam 2gb nano cant hold all my music so i still want to be able to use the cd player.
