Postby gasman » Fri Jan 20, 2006 1:49 pm

my ae92 gtz levin has some sort of deamon in it.
whenever i park up on a lean for a while it wont start up so i have to push start it, and when im by my self that can be quite hard.

Go to a Catholic church and hire a priest to perform an excorcism.

If that fails if you suspect you have no spark then start with the obivous things...dizzy/plugs/leads etc.

I'm not 100% clued up with these so I'm not sure if they have dizzy and leads?

Maybe your fuel tank is near empty and the fuel drains back to the tank so there is none in the lines. of course if this was the case it should start after a few seconds of turning over/fuel pump operation.

Dunno.

Carry an old plug with you, next time it does it check for spark, if its got ignition it can be nothing else but lack of fuel pressure. Carry some either with you also, spray some into the ducting, if it fires you know its a fuel problem for sure, more likely what P.C suggests.

Hondas are very bad for this and its a common complaint by there owners. It is usually caused by Weak spark at the plugs, Honda Ignition modules are normally the problem, even though they still switch they dont give enough dwell, therefore the coil produces a very weak spark. That weak it gets put out under compression and wont fire.

We strike this quite a few times at work with toyota's,
and mostay 4AGZE and 3SGE as they have the denso reduction starters.

We found that it is a battery problem.
As said the starter winds over fine and the engine is cranking at the correct speed,

BUT,

The starters are so good on them that they wind the car over no problems with a 1/2 fuct barttery,
but the voltage is too low for the computer to run and you get no spark.

Either put a battery in to try,
get your one tested,
or try jumper leads when it wont start to see if it's the problem.
