Cheapest way to transoprt a car from auck to chch?

Just try car transporters like Jeffs, or something. I dont think you can really beat someone like that. They were about $600 or so from there to here. (or something like that) Youd never drive a car up and collect it for that.

guess it depends what car tho...
i flew to auck ($149 one way roughly) then drove down. i had three tanks of premium in the trueno ($60, $49 and $43) for the ride down. one way on the ferry was reasonably cheap as i recall too. was cheaper for me than using a transport company....(if your err dont count the speeding fine incurred on the late night drive past rotorua ).

might pay just to look into it?

I'd fly up and make a road trip out of it, assuming the car is road worthy enough to make it.

if the car is driveable, try Toll Rail's Auto Express division. my old work sent small trucks north for less than the one way ferry ticket and fuel.

NB. they only operate Auckland Wellington and CH-CH, so outside of these 3 areas, there would be other cost getting it to the railyard.
