Gizzmo IBC what you think

Postby GT4PWA » Tue Jan 24, 2006 4:30 pm

I am just wondering what you guys think about the gizzmo IBC's

I bought one along about 6 months ago and have had nothing but problems with the boost levels. I have been trying to tune it and gotten auto sparkies to tune it but it has failed so i have been to gizzmo twice and asked for them to help adn see whats wrong but they can't be botherd.

Has anyone in auckland had exp with them and or had them running how they are suppose to? I was hoping to have the car ready for its maiden 1/4mile at the nats but with how its going atm even a honda may win :S

Ask MR2SIK about the issues he has had with his. Although he did manage to get it working reasonably well to cut some 12 second passes.

all i've heard about those controllers is bad. noone i know has set them up easily or ever got them working properly :? and it seems bad that gizzmo are not willing to try fix it for you. i guess they've had alot of issues with people asking them.

dont you have to be doing the required boost to set it?

I got mine working, but somehow one of the connecters on the back is now very loose, so sometimes it cuts out so i get stuck with standard boost  very embarrasing when you're lining up a dirty v8 at the drags only to find you got 10psi... not good   lol

What you need to understand is that they are an open loop duty cycle controlled only solenoid.

You cannot set boost with them,
you set a duty cycle and see what boost it gives you.
then re-adjust the duty up or down.

All the other setting in them just control when they start to control the duty cycle.

Yes the instructions are poo's and you might as well not even bother with them.

The only reason they even have a boost input is for the display gauge.

If your car needs a differnt duty cycle at 5000rpm to 7000 rpm to keep the same boost like mine,

a normal IBC wont do the job.
