Faded paint

I own a 1986 fxgt and being 20 years old the paints doesnt look exactly new . Can anyone suggest a product or service that can make my paint look newer and give it that shinny look ? Any help would be appreciated.

If it hasnt been done for the last god knows how long, clay it, and then cut + polish it. Apply the compund with a mitten or something then buff off with an electric buffer.

Sounds all to complicated for me , a paint job would cost me too much so that out of the question , might just have to live with it

This is all new to me , i wasnt implying cut and polishing a car was difficult more claying and applying compound , next time ill go elsewhere

If you paint has a clear coat, then I wouldn't recommend using a cut and polish - it will just take away a layer or two of clear coat. If done wrong i will leave the clear coat very hazy. You have to continually apply a wax and buff it to keep it looking good if you use a cut and polish.

as long as you use a mild cut and polish and its not to weathered, it will turn out fine.
although it would be good to clay, you will still get a good enough finish with just the cut n polish (just make sure you clean the car good first). Its really pretty easy. if worried about it, just start on a lower section not seen easily so-as to get the hang of it.
its worth it if the car is faded, so why not give it a go.
