HELP - NEW SEATS NEEDED FOR 79 KE30 COROLLA

Hey, i need to get new seats for my ke.... i know that i can get levin seats for the front and they will fit all sweet without having to get them certified.... but i wanna have matching backseat as well.... does anyone know what seats i can use to put in the back....

i know levin back seats dont actually bolt into the car generally... (well my AE111 back seat dosnt) so how would i get around that, providing they fit???

does anyone know of back seats from other cars that will bit straight in easily???

any help would be appreciated as i need to get a WOF asap.

backseats will be harder to fit, as in a ke30 they are fixed and dont fold forwards, you should be able to modify ae82 seats to fit, but its probably not worth the effort and the money.

why not just retrim the rear seats and add extra padding extra to suit the front?

can i not just mount levin seats into it and then make up some brackets to bolt them into the back??? would i need to get a cert for that kinda thing???

yes you will need a cert, as you are modify an OE part,

measure up some rear seats - ae82, ae92 etc to find which is your closest fit, then look at the mounting brackets and find which ones will fit with the least amount of fabrication.

depending where you go for a WOF it may not get picked up, but it most likely would.

ive got a whole set of matching AE111 seats if thats any help to you?
possibly a whole set of AE92 ones soon too

also, i *think* you only need a cert if you modify where the seats are bolted to onto the chassis, may pay to ring/go see a certifier just to be on the safe side

yeah i know u need a cert if u modify front seat brackets.... just found out u do need a cert if u put different back seats in as well.... argh......


so... now i need to find ke30 front and back seats!!!!

I have 2 black ones, ones is very mint, perfect the other has a couple of easily fixed rips.

they didnt get stolen, they failed the warrant cos they move while u sit in them....
