3S-GE factory specs & megasquirt

Postby StuartM » Wed Jan 25, 2006 10:10 pm

Hello world
im going to replace my 3S-G ECU (1986 ST162 GT-R celica) with a megasquirt v3 and had a couple of questions I was hoping to get answers to.

what CC/minute are the OE injectors?
what is the fuel injector opening/closing time?
is there a MAP sensor anywhere in the car? (supras have one in the cabin!)

is there anyone else out there with a megasquirt-controlled 3s-ge who could send me a msq file to start my tuning with? what Req_fuel and idle PWM did you use? was the stock EGO sensor any good?

First of all, good on ya for giving megasquirt a go.
Very cool. 8)

Karl skewes had a 3sge running on megasquirt, however he was running quads, so his fuel requirements would be rather different.

There is only 1 map sensor, and it tees into the intake manifold.

EDIT: argh, I thought I had the injector sizes written down somewhere, but I dont.

thanks! I have downloaded his msq files from the garagedori.com website :-)

my stock ECU is an AFM type (should have said it was a 3S-GELU) will it still have a MAP sensor??

Doh! Sorry, youre right, I mistakenly thought it was a gen 2 3sge.

Sorry I dont know much of anything about gen 1 engines, but good luck with your project. 8)

if the injectors are green they should be 295cc/min, 13.8ohm

it doesn't have a map sensor, so get one from another NA map sensed toyota :)

FYI megasquirt has a built in MAP sensor. Just need to run a tube from the inlet manifold to the MS.

So you're ditching the carbs? or are you using MS for the ignition timing etc?

got carbs on one engine in AE70, and quad throttles plus msns-e in mr2.
also looking at running msns-e on gen4 with factory intake in AE86 for targa next year. We love our 3sge engines down here!

no point using Karls if you havnt got quads, You'll have a whole lot better megasquirt experience if you start from scratch just go read the mega manual about 10 times
