wats with the ae82 fxgts and the wheel studs

Postby escortman » Wed Jan 25, 2006 10:39 pm

i have tried a couple of different magz on my ae82 fxgt, but when it comes to putting the nuts on the studs dont seem to be long enough, has nebody else had this problem i showed a tyre show in glen eden and they said theyv seen worse, lik they appaer to be only lik 3-4 mm to short, i priced up getting longer studs and it was gona cost bout 40 buks a hub and these studs would be bout 30mm longer so would need to be cut, these prices were at cost as well, i also dont want to do this because to get the fronts out i run the risk of breaking the bearing, wat can i do :?:

Its interesting, as the offset that fitted on my car (the MR2) runs the same FWD offset as his is supposed to...yet they fitted on mine fine...

His studs are quite short...

I have the same problem with mine... the warrant guy didn't like it so I put wheel nuts on that are covered over the top... so you can't see that the nut isn't on very far.

are you using the right wheel nuts?
Some are conical and some (especally on stock toyota mags) have washers and go right through the mag.
