$1000 to wire - Nigel picton auto electrical
$1000 to fit and plumb plus new parts fuel pump ect ect - Place outside of hamilton
$500 - $1000 drive shafts,cv's? kihi kihi auto wreckers
$750 - $900 gearbox including modifying kihi kihi auto wreckers
$? engine mounts? duno
$1000 - just incase some thing goes wrong and u gota pay more
don't know if u would get change from 5k from a garage.... if u did it yourself tho....

dont use these prices as a definit cost tho as i have only realy looked localy to me yet cld prolly find stuff in aux cheaper......

*edit* went to pitstop about my brakes and he said he will put some (*#$& hot pads on the front and some top quality brake fluid and if that dont make it pass certification i can have all that stuff for free.....
also $350 for cert of new engine :)

That budget is quite big, i wouldnt expect to pay that much. Best best would be to find a damaged ST185 celica. Then you have motor, ECU, loom, brakes, and then be able to sell the left over parts to find a MR2 box with LSD (you will need it).

With the wiring, someone from here might be interested in a cash job (Malcolm??? )

Rip off
$1000 to wire - Nigel picton auto electrical

Rip off
$1000 to fit and plumb plus new parts fuel pump ect ect - Place outside of hamilton
Not too bad, but still a bit much
$500 - $1000 drive shafts,cv's? kihi kihi auto wreckers
rip off
$750 - $900 gearbox including modifying kihi kihi auto wreckers
rip off

I would do the conversion for about $1500 labour and will help with sourcing parts a LOT cheaper than the above prices :)

And as mentioned, using the MR2 turbo box means that atleast 2, maybe 3 of the mounts need to be changed

I got insured with my Celica GT-Four when I was 16. Had to go through National Auto Club and cost an arm and a leg though!

hmmm if you go for the 3S-GTE conversion keep me posted! been wanting to do this to mine for a while
currently running a 3S-GE in mine with not much modded, 2 1/4" Exhaust from Flexi back, 2x Cobys(sp?), and a nice Dytech exhaust.

doesn't go too badly at all. but i have found a 3S-GTE engine down here locally which would do just fine for the transplant... just gotta figure if i really wanna get it done :)

just how much is a replacement FWD box for the 3SGTE? the box i can get hold of is for a GTFour. :(

If you can find a S54 LSD box from a wrecker, expect to pay about $1k for it. You may be able to get it cheaper if they dont realise it's LSD :D Otherwise you can get a E153 LSD box from a SW20 turbo. Malcolms site has instructions for converting to FWD :D
