4AGZE in AE101 original airbox? help!

Postby DB4G63 » Sat Jan 28, 2006 10:09 pm

Hi

Having just purchased a 93 GTZ Im just spending abit of time and money un-fooping what the previous owner did when he ah...owned it :D

A big annoyance is the rungi Pod filter just flopping around in the engine bay.

Correct me if I am wrong but the has the result of sucking in all the hot air off toasty engine bits....which is not cool. My pod filter is seriously oily and greasy which makes me think its not the best for my car.
( I can provide a pic if someone wants to see it )
It has been suggested by serveral mates that I attain the orignal intake bits and simply get a high flow K&N panel filter and use that instead....

Could anyone please take a decent snapshot of the airbox/intake part of the engine bay? Even a high rez pick of the whole engine bay would help....
It would help when I rock into a wreckers to see what bits im missing and get hold of them soon.

Any help comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

thank you! :D

could just build a cai if you already have a poddie (thats what dave will be doing to save himself trying to find an airbox etc).

just clean the poddie up (k&n air filter cleaner pack)... dependant on the filter etc, could always get a new one. Might have to do a battery to boot thing to get a cai in nicely though

Is that Cold Air Intake box?

my current filter is real oilly and greasy, might have to splurge for K&N
Im guessing it says on it somewhere if it is already a K&N...never thought to check...

Cai = Cold air intake, in short, extend the pipe down to behind the headlight (may have to relocate battery), then run a cold air duct up from the bumper to a box, and in that box fit a filter (poddie).

Check out each of those to see what i mean.

I just built a cold air box for my 20 valve. Fiber glass is the easiest if you dont have any metal. If someone tells me how to host a pic ill put a photo up.
