fair pricing on exhaust?

Postby Cakky » Mon Jan 30, 2006 5:03 pm

hey guys, just got a price from my dads mechanic for an exhaust

2" piping with one baffled resonator and a 2 and a 1/4" muffler on it?

$350

he said 2 and a quarter inch piping is too much for a 1.6 4 cylinder and i'd get better results with 2". hes generally pretty onto it, just thought id get some opinion on this?

does the price sound reasonable?

The price sounds pretty gud if it is including all materials used and manhours to put it all in.

2 -> 2 1/4" piping is normally the way to go on a 1.6L N/A motor. Any more than that and it starts getting too big and you loose backpressure...

Is that from the cat back or from the flexi back? Either way its a pretty good deal. If your getting rid of the cat then one resonator mightnt be enough to stop the 'tinny' sound
