I expected less!

Postby Gadget » Sat Jan 28, 2006 5:22 pm

Well I too dyno'd my car today, and after the last dyno of 214.3rwkw, I've installed a Mines ECU and my custom sidepipes... and today (at a massive 28-30 degrees air temp) it dyno'd at 260rwkw (and approx 470Nm of torque)!

Image(Torque and kW plot, click to enlarge)

Image(Boost plot, click to enlarge)

As you can see, it's making more boost (11.5psi up to 14.7ish psi for the new figure).

All three plots are comparitive, so you can see the old runs (done nearly 18 months ago), and today's runs.

I'm smiling! :D

The quarter mile breaks stuff and causes much loss of rubber on tyres... *looks for some slicks* Maybe when I can get my hands on some semi's or full slicks...

was very impressive to watch on the dyno. sounded like a jet engine from outside :D i think the most impressive thing is the boost curve , the dyno reading starts at 2000rpm , and the boost is already 15psi at 2000rpm :o

the car isnt even breaking a sweat at that power , shows the difference having an engine that isnt tired or thrashed will make.

i dont think so
if you imagine a lot of noise , accompanied by the whooshing wastegate like screaming sound of a whole lot of air coming out 4 sidepipes , and the high pitched whine of the twin 2jz turbos , and said engine revving to 7600 (on the first run) , youll pretty much hav it.

your plots dont work :(
EDIT NOW IT WORKS FOR SOME REASON>

7600rpm is a fair whack for a 2jz to be pulling,
(works out to be well over a 4200ft/s piston speed(average)

to put that into proportion, a 4age would need to rev to 8000rpm to get that sort of piston speeds,

a 1jz would need to pull 9000rpm to make that sort of piston speeds :)

yeh pretty sure it only went that far for the first run , and was the rev limiter for that ecu.

9k?? hmm, maybe should leave the 1j in the mk3 for a bit longer, and raise the rev limiter...
