Grab a 16V headgasket and a 20V one and see how different they are. Not a lot in it

you mean "Oh well, VVT or whatever it is" ???

Damn arnt i in a good mood today :?

I belive you normaly disconnect the vvt when replacement cams/cam shafts are put in, yes. But you also loose your low down torque which the 4age isnt exactly known for having in the first place. Also not really worth it with out aftermarket ecu.

why would you have to get rid of the VVT when upgrading cams? Isn't it part of the cam pulley and so not really effected by the lobes on the cam?

Isn't VVT part of the ECU? I'd assume that when you replace the cams, the OEM ECU wouldn't be able to get things right and would need to be replaced with an aftermarket unit. I don't think there are many that support VVT are there?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

wtf. u have your answer.....

your running an aftermarket ecu. so dont hook up the vvt.....

as for weather or not vvt is a good idea or not depends entirly on the engine package and its use.....

are you sure the toda cams are meant to be non vvt??

Taken from the toda web site

Part # Duration Lift (mm) Comment
4AG-5VIN011 264 8.5 VVT Intake
4AG-5VIN012 264 9.0 VVT Intake

Anything bigger will not use VVT
