You need to get the right person at the company, not the right company.
I had my Evo 1 insured with AMI and rung up and got my girlfriend named as an under 25 driver, easy as.
She rung AMI up to get me listed on her std AE92 FXGT and they said no because i was under 25 and it was a performace vehicle???
I rung back and talked to to the same person I was talking to and it became not a problem.

Yup very true, im with AMI, the manager at Papakura branch said no to me lowering my KE30 at all, and doing any mods to it. The manager at AMI botany has insured it covering all the mods listed in my profile. Major difference.

I then went into my local state branch (whakatane) and they were much more helpful, very friendly and happy to help out. I think I'm very lucky to have insurance with state at my age with a GT Four though.

AMI and state both refuse to insure me at all (even through my mother) because i have more than 20% modifications on my car (just mags atm).. I am looking at getting a body kit put on soon and getting my car lowered.. i dont know what im going to do about insurance.
Toyspeed should start an insurance company!
