ST185 GT Four: Exhaust Leak

you should be able to trace an exhaust leak fairly easily. With the engine running put your hand around joins in the exhaust (don't touch it though!) and feel for air puffing onto it.

also, places where is the leak you will see some black stuff (carbon)...

Ahh yes well I've decided to leave it to my local exuaust expert... Lets hope its only a gasket.....

I hope you don't mean the AA when you refer to your local expert.

My CT26 went at 170k (standard boost - 8 psi), Clutch at 198k, Head gasket (rebuilt it) at 215k then the cambelt tensioner let go causing the belt to snap at 220k. But great cars really :P Just a pain in the arse to work on and very demoralising with all this happening over the course of two years.

Ha ha no I dont mean that my local exhaust expert is the AA.... Coastline mufflers are the people
