Hey. Found this on an AE92 Levin. It was mounted up by the horn. I suspect it's a temperature sensor for the air con.

Can anyone confirm this?

Why does the A/C need a temp sensor?

I was wondering that same thing...

Revhead. Don't suppose you know any specs about that sensor?
From what I can gather I think its a NTC thermistor encased in a plastic housing to slow down temperature transients. Which is good. But I don't suppose you know it's temp/resistance curve or anything. I'm not keen on doing the old empirical method given inaccuracies...

My 1997 carib has one up behind the bumper. I'm pretty sure its hooked up to the outside temp gauge which is just under the rev counter.

As far as I can tell the AE92 doesn't have an external temperature guage... Could be wrong... I'll have another look I suppose...

Well. There we go. I have no real idea why but that's what it's there for...

Now. Does anyone happen to know what it's operating curve looks like? I think it's about 1.7k@20deg and about 1.2k@32deg.
Does this sound about right? Is this thing linear? I really wanna use it to measure the radiator temperature to trigger a op-amp circuit... Saves me buying one and then having to figure out how to encase the thing...
