Dash conversion auto-manual ae85

can you straight swap over an auto ae85 dash to a manual one? ie one with a rev counter
Current: 5 x ae85's 2 x ae86's, 12a b1600 ute, ek9 type r civic, tube frame drag body.

yes i think so, havent done it myself but looking at the looms between the different models i would say yes.
on a side note the ae86 dash has higher redline than 85 dash and also has oil pressure gauge that 85 one doesnt.

He's talking about replacing the auto dash which has no rev counter at all with one out of a manual that does have a rev counter.

No idea if they swap or not but I can rewire to suit if need be for a small fee,.....

yes i know.
the looms are all pretty much the same between the models so the tach wire should be there already. but as u say it would be very simple to rewire. (the plugs for the dash are all the same.)
the other bit was just a side note.

i know they are not for the KE70 looms.

TE70 or KE70?

Cause the KE70 dx i conveted to rev counter dash had all the wires they just needed re-arranging in the plugs.

i'm sure it was the KE70 liftback( similar shape as my TE) dash into KE70 with 3T fitted. but then, 1/2 the SCCC had fiddled with that car :lol:

not much interest in my complete 86 facelift conversion so its gonna wind up in my ae85

cool it will be an ae86 dash ill fit in didnt no they had oil pres. 8)

ill check the plugs i have a manual rev counter dash from an 85 to check it till the rest turns up
