Altezza Head Unit

Postby qikgt4 » Fri Feb 10, 2006 11:30 am

Hi there

I need help with my stereo, what are the wire colours and what are they for?
Just to make it tricky, I also have Sat nav, but I dont really need this because it just tells me im in Japan.

I havent taken the head unit out yet thought I would get some idea on the wires before putting in my other head unit.

Cheers

hey there

i replaced my altezza with a pioneer one and im assuming that you are wanting to replace with an aftermarket one. The easiest way to do this is to go to repco and buy a wiring harness for toyota and the wiring harness for whatever brand your head unit is and then just clip them all together. It saves cutting up your factory loom and saves having to wire things up

Terminal strips work well as well. That way if you get a new headunit later and it has a different type of power plug you only have to unscrew the headunit plug and keep the factory wires inside the terminal :D

Wire colours are or should be similar to:

12+: Blue/Yellow
ACC: Grey
GRND: Brown

ANT: Black/Red Amp: Pink/Blue
ILL: Green

FR+: Light Green
FR-: Blue
FL+: Pink
FL-: Purple
RR+: Red
RR-: White
RL+: Black
RL-: Yellow

Rear can vary though. The main ones to get right are the batt, ground and acc.

just get a straight loom adaptor from repco or a car audio store.. straight fitment, no hassles, no fuss :)
