no no, i was just saying that its all good saying your going to slap a TD04 on the side, tune your nos timings, and run 9's like Vin Desiel said you would, but very few people on a budget do it :P

although credit union on speed-dial isnt a silly idea, hehehe

What about drag racing then? My car might be slightly easier to beat. ;)

What do you need to go drag racing, just a helmet?

the idiots have no idea. The only way 2 make money from the track and keep street racin off the street is to loosen acess to the track!
Please Matt harass your local council or the police even! They might be interested if they can forsee positive results! Imagine a police sponsored event! It would be great for the police public relations idiots and people might actually get to learn how to drive better!

My god im a genius!

Not quite,
The south canterbury car club spent so much money in court fighting it that they almost went broke and lost the track completely.
we are not talking lets all chip in here money, we are talking lets all mortgage our houses and our parent houses type amounts.

Better than a track day will be the event on march 11th.
No drag. No drift, just a full day of on track activites that is an awesome day. Not 100% planned yet but 100% committed as the track has been booked and allocated to this event for 12 months, just need to finalise a few things on requirements.

Why don't they open the track more often though? Surely they'd be losing money by not doing so?

Doesn't make any sense at all to me.

the demand for use is so high, that even the car club is binning it own race days in order to get revenue from hiring it. there a very strict rules as to when an how the track is used, and believe me, if we were allowed twice as many days, we would find a use for most of them.

What do you mean by open?

They are only allowed certain days, and there is never an allowed day that is not used,

??

Open as in in use. From what i've heard/read it only lets people hoon around it (including the NZ V8 Touring cars etc) a couple of times a year?

If i owned a racetrack it would be open every weekend. :?

Have you read all that has been said here already?????

We only have so many days a year that is possible to use due to resource consent.
It is just not possible.

Why cancel an event that makes 20 grand profit like any of the ones listed above so we can charge 40 people $40 each???

If we did that there would not be enough money for the club to keep upgrading the track to keep it at a acceptanle standard.
