To start with. Maybe use my Levin as a test mule. It's a design based upon something I saw on the net... If it works it should do it's job nicely... It's all a bit hush hush cause I don't want people to laugh at me...ae-86_lad wrote:what car r u putting this on?
Yes. But say it quietly so people don't laugh at me...All_Fours wrote:DIY electric supercharger.
Yeah. Thanks...ae-86_lad wrote:hahahaha..
ur stupid, it wont work, you dont know what your doing, get a new car etc..
is that enough encouragment for you?

Has to have a big wheel... the problem with a TD025 (assuming that's reasonably small) is that the RC motor I'm using can only pull around 40000RPM. So a TD025 can't create much flow in comparison (BTW I have no idea how big a td025 really is). How does 2.2kW from 24V sound? Tee hee hee...Phothog wrote:Yes we @ AllTech have New Polished Compressor Covers from Turbonetics in stock ,
Not trying to shoot you down but.
if you are thinking of making an electric s/charger a T76 compressor wheel
would be Toooooooo big. 76.2mm inducer & 102mm on the base,
thats is a lot of wheel to move....
to spin one of those you would need a BIG motor & lots of batterys...
it would be best to get something like a CT26 or a TB03,
i know MSE has made an electric s/charger from a Mitsi TD025 Compressor
cover & wheel attached to a R/c motor...
that is the way i would do it..
Nope. Although the later twincharge concept will using a dual tuned length exhaust with a diverting system that will divert the exhaust around the turbo at low revs (with the exhaust tuned to match low RPM) and then puth full flow through the turbo at later RPM.gmacrae wrote:Does your idea involve a divided flange/twin scroll turbo, with one side/half of the manifold's collector blocked off with a butterfly till later in the rev range to decrease spool time?

this way this way the valve only opens when your pressure differential is positive on the device side
in theroy it would be self regulating and would give you a smooth transistion

This also has the side benefit of being able to measure just how much each charger is flowing. Probably not the most universally useful measurement. But good if you were gonna do what I'm planning and use an electric s/c. Can use the measurement to see just how much each charger is flowing. Load balancing that sort of stuff.All_Fours wrote:I thought of something similar, but instead use a modified airflow meter on each one. Basically the same, but easier to source, probably flow better too
I'm intending to switch off the ESC once the turbo is up to speed. So I wouldn't expect there to be more air than a single WAIC can handle.vvega wrote:personally i woudl run them though there own wta AS 2X compression sources x a hell of a lot of hot air
you migth frind more effencency in perhaps runing it that way
