hey got a matae with a gt starlet has exhaust 2>5inch straight through and also boost tap(running 11pound) pod,bov, what other simple mods bar a front mount do yo reckon he should go after next low budget but good increases, ive run outa ideas for him, haha

Front mount, better manifold and larger turbo will transform your starlet.
vf10, td04s, small t3s work really well on these cars,.

mount hte pod off the turbo, down pipe, if he doesnt wanna go front mount he can do teh rx7 top mount conversion like me (pm if he wants more details), he could go bigger fuel pump(mazdaGTX ones work well) and a rrfpr and fuel cut defender and run some more boost...altho anything above 14 on stock turbo really makes no difference as it gets too hot....

As said above though the stock turbo = total crap, ditch it as soon as possible if your after decent power

Yea, id go down pipe off the turbo, airfilter straight off the turbo and rx7 top mount intercooler, all cheap mods

If he wants to do cheap mods he should look at some of the Japanese auction sites and buy things like FCD, SLD, SAFC cheap. I would also recommend upgrading the acutator on the stock turbo, people think its a waste of time but we were running one on our other starlet prior to stripping it down and that thing was fast. Stock actuators are pretty average. But yeah if he doesnt have a decent dump pipe I would suggest he gets one, gutting the cat does improve performance slightly but nothing compares to a straight piece of pipe

if you wanna be ruff as with it and dont care about looks;

weld td04l to stock manifold
get a stock td04l downpipe flange and weld some exhaust piping to it
vr4/evo intercooler, or as said a s4 rx7 intercooler; frontmount preferable
2" exhaust piping hacked up for intercooler piping
rising rate fuel reg
fuel cut defender
retard timing abit at the dizzy

go have a power run on a dyno and wind boost up till air/fuels are about 12:1 no higher and no higher than say 18psi?

yeh they are but ive welded to cast alot with a shitty fluxcore mig welder and its still holding up after at least 15000k's.

apparentlyits best to heat it up then weld.

Id argee with harlet, get a bigger accuator, i had a t25 one modifyed and insted of dropping boost off up high it picked up boost on the durty old ct9b
