Quality of Jamex seats/DC2 seats

Postby GTCRSHR » Tue Feb 14, 2006 8:41 am

Hi guys,

just wondering who here has used them ? (if so which kind)

just a few questions

are they very comfortable (the ae101 seats are Kronic on my back)

How is the build quality of the seats ? are they likely to fall appart in 6months time ?

how hard are they to mount up to original rails,

im still trying to find some Honda DC2 seats so if any one knows of any out there please do let me know

anything else to say about them ?

I'm not keen on Jamex, after a friend of mine was given a massive run around when a Jamex steering wheel fell to bits.

I've got Jamex seats in the MR2, nice and snug, pretty sturdy, easy to install (i just had to weld a couple of plates to one seat rail to bolt to), and can't beat the price (I paid $540 for 2 brand new Daytonas).

My only complaint is the NZ Jamex importer seems like a bit of a dick.

evo 4 seats are the same as the type r recaros just trimmed differently and can usually pick them up much cheaper than the honda version at around $600 - $700. If you can get a good deal on the momo seats id go for them, otherwise there is always deals to be had on trademe. . . i managed to pick up a pair of evo 5 recaro's for $600

I had a DC-2 R seat in my Soarer for about a year, on custom mounts... was quite comfortable, only issue I had with it was my ass was too big and pushed the padding on the side away from the metal frame a little bit...

If you're after a pair that are in pretty good nick, I know somebody selling a pair for a grand.
