inlet/throttle gasket

Postby panda_dan » Fri Feb 17, 2006 10:11 am

i just had my inlet manifold cut and shut. therefore the gasket was broken in the process. i need a new one and am finding it near impossible to track one down. can i use a tube of that orange gaskett stuff in it or should i get gasket paper and trace it out? just looking for the easiest option. cheers

did you just use regular old gasket stuff? i have some which i used on my diff head when putting it back into the diff housing after i locked it. do you reckon that same stuff will do the trick? what brand did you use? i guess it is not the kind of gasket you wanna muck around with or youll never have an even idle.

Just make one out of gasket paper, or buy one from toyota, I picked mine up for about $3 from toyota a couple of months ago, you dont really want goo around your throttle body. Is this for brendans old smallport?

From toyota, just a genuine gasket. Heh, it does look good, should be a nice motor, he copied exactly what I did to my motor, and for your info, I painted your rocker covers :D
