Postby FXGTV » Fri Feb 17, 2006 2:44 pm

My old box is starting to sound a little crunchy and im looking at a replacement box on trademe atm. Will an ae82 box (for an fxgt) fit into my ae92 fx?

It should do, may have beef with inner cv differences and possibly clutch plate spline count but the rest should be sweet

As long as it has provision for the starter motor to bolt up as per your current one, it will be fine.

Definitely wont have a problem with input shaft, or CV's if you use your existing shafts & axle stubs (not sure if ae92's have these, i know ae82's do)

i'd change the axle seals and gearbox fluid while you're at it...

been there, tried that, The AE82 for vague memory has the starter mounts in a totally different place, and something about the crossmember mount rings a bell too :?

Thanks guys. The box im looking at on trademe is a little suspect...he's got a buy now of $60 and according to him 'appears to have been rebuilt recently'. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.asp?id=47613422#qna

It doesnt appear to look too nice to me :P But looks may be deceiving... Ask him where he got it from... if it "looks as if its been rebuilt recently" then he cant have had it for long...
