fuel troubles

Postby panda_dan » Fri Feb 17, 2006 3:29 pm

i am running a smallport 4age in my ae85. obviously the fuel lines which are used to feeding a 3au are not up to the task. i collected some stuff that i figure ill need for the setup. have a set of ae86 4age fuel lines (feed and return), 5m of 8ml fuel line bundy if i need to bend up a line, in tank blacktop fuel pump, inline vl commodore fuel pump, 2 fuel filters and some high tensile hosing.

heres my problem. as i am going to use the existing ae85 tank, i need to figure out a feasible way of fuelling the engine and i'm not too sure about how to do it best. heres what iv come up with.

85 tank with straw into the bottom - to 4age pump - to filter - to surge tank in boot - to filter - to vl pump - to fuel line - to engine.

furthermore, i will use my 3au feed as the new return and the ae86 4age feed as the new feed.

if anyone has any thoughts or has done this themselves id love a bit of help. if you are all laughing at me then that is also fine, you must learn from being an idiot sometimes ha

all you should need is the vl pump and if you really want to pay me lots and you can have my ae85 tank with twin pick ups

Just run a VL pump and youll get fuel surge, not cool. Get an 86 tank with baffles, or get a low pressure lifte rpump and a surge tank as well as you VL Pump.
