Before that you should be swapping it for a 4AGTE however

How much money have you got and what sort of things are you wanting to do?

Bit of a difference between doing extracters and and exhaust than going all out and turboing it or doing an engine transplant or something

for just small cash there isnt a lot really. standard exhaust manifold is pretty decent really. could change the exhaust, but dont expect wonders. feed more cold air to filter, or if you fit a pod, build a proper cold air box.
if you have not already, re-new all the service parts like plugs/rotor/cap etc
Cant believe im still a member here.

Run a bluetop on 98?? :?

It's not exactly a high compression performance engine, I doubt you'd get anything out of 98 over 95.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

You should do a search before starting the 150 billionth thread asking what to do to a 4AGE :)

As everyone has said it depends what your looking to spend. I have dropped a 20v into mine and am doing one in an aw11 at the moment, good upgrade for the ae82 :D

Hmm i wouldn't say that for a blue top 4age. I got a noticeable difference running on 98 from 95 or 96 for that matter.

Get a 3 angle valve job and have the head sit on the plan for a hour and a 1/4(my ae82 went surpisingly well with just this done), and all the usuall stuff, cold air intake, exhuast(not sure about 2.5" mandrel on a street 4age), lighten flywheel(maybe a better clutch), maybe even have it port matched and some DECENT tyres on the front.
