Nah man, I'm not out to rip anyone off.

She's been pulled over a few times by young guys wanting it but is only considering selling it because her eyesight isn't as good as it was.

Ask her the usual questions:

"You haven't been drifting it, have you??"

"You haven't thrashed it, have you?"
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Tyres aren't bald (we'll leave that to your mum).

I would even use the word "Immaculate".

If this wasnt a toyota site & people didnt maz over the ae85/86's, then Id value it ~$1500 simply because its an old 1.5l toyota.
but this is a toyota club...

yeah as above.....
ae85s are 500-1500 cars.
but due to some silly cartoon and millions of wannbes try hards around the world it could go for some insane price like 5000.

just remember if she says $5000, think about what else you can get for that cash....

I would pay $5000 if I had it.

It would be a good investment.

Yeah you can get other cars for the same money but until someone makes a cartoon about the aw11 I'll keep wanting a Trueno, and I haven't seen one as untouched as this

Its a 22 year old car thats neither fast, great looking or special in any way. Id be hesitant to part with anything more than $1000 IMO. Because as it stands its merely transport, its hardly a race or drift car, its just a mint old Toyota :? Much rather buy something like my little brothers '90 Corona 1.8 for $1000 for transport.

Yeah.. but you want $8000 for your MR2

Seriously though.. I love how they look and there's nothing wrong with a 3a for transport.
And later on you'll probably sell it for a profit.

You could always ruin it and turn it into a drift car

I'd agree...if it is kept mint, garaged and virtually un-used, as the km's are getting up. + you would want to keep it for a while imo, for it to be a proper investment.

If she does decide to keep driving and not sell, you could always offer to purchase her a newer, smaller easire to drive car!- for ~$1500 could buy her a good car into the 90's

IMO, an AE85 isnt a good investment car, unless you're planning on converting it to AE86 specs. Even then, its not going to be worth as much as a genuine 86. Unless of course they end up like RX3/808's 8O
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

It's also about preservation of history, the 85 wasn't the greatest car but it's definately worth preserving, same as the aw10.

Converting it to 86 spec would probably make more money now but the idea would be to sell it in 5 years or something.

If she decides to sell it that is.

Who cares, if anyone is really interested PM me and I'll let you know what happens, as it happens.
