Best engine workshop in Hamilton?

Postby fuel » Wed Feb 22, 2006 6:36 pm

I'm wanting to get some work done on my 2T-GEU block and head - just wondering which engine shop in Hamilton is the one to go to?

Has anyone had any great experiences with one particular place they would like to share? Or any bad experiences with one place to avoid?

I'm looking to get the crank and bores measured, then the bores honed and new rings fitted. Will most likely get the head cleaned up and ported and polished if budget allows.

Cheers,
Phil

I was actually going to post last night, and ask if there's anywhere people recommend for exhaust and muffler fitting in Hamilton as well. Any places other than Pitstop that people give the thumbs-up to?

Te Rapa brake and exhaust (something like that) down the service lane. Good c**ts, Iv only done one car through there for a full exhaust and they now fix all my problems free of charge.

yeh those dudes lifted my exhaust once for like 20 bux and sealed a leak for the same. he gave me 2 bushings another time too but when he saw i had eftpos he cudn't be f*kt pushing buttons and said don't wury about it. gud c*nt.
Is that engine place the one on norton road? if so thats the only one i would go to. That place on lake road sends some stuff to auckland to get done cos they can't doit and charges the world. (IMO)

Yeh I went to the place on lake road (hamilton cylinder head services), seemed alright and I was going to drop the engine off to them, until I went to the place on norton road and spoke to the old guy there. He seemed interested in my motor, and gave me a real good quote. Definitely going there.
