Compressing springs

Hey people,
Due to me not being able to find anything but TRD and Greddy ($800) springs for my Mark2 Chaser it's still as high as a kite...I was just wondering if I should think about going down the spring compressing road?Has anyone had this done?How much does it cost?Where can I have it done?And lastly was it worth it?

There are plenty of springmakers around the place, any of whom should be able to sort you out with compressing, or even custom springs.
Off the top of my head, I think Snells in Auckland does it, might even pay to give Stocks a call.

I had my front springs compressed by Snell Springs,
think its about $60 per spring & yeah it was worth it.
they also do custom springs as well..

I just did a quick search and all I got was a couple of threads made by $CENSLS1$ asking about springs. So "Do a search" is not a helpful response.

However in one of the threads.....

TRD do them..... if youd been bothered to follow instructions ud know they are around $400 a set inc gst etc

So there you go. Either buy those, get yours compressed or get some custom ones.

I wasnt asking if anyone had any,i have been in contact with Mr Revhead and have got a price.I was primarily asking if anyone has any experience with compressed springs....that's all...

Thank you for those who have simply answered what I asked.What I really want to know if you can have them lowered around 50mm and yet still keep them captive?

You could have your standards compressed as much as you want, and if they dont stay captive you can always get the shocks shortened. The ride will be s**t though, hitting the bumpstops at any small bump I would imagine

Yeah, to keep them captive you'll need to shorten the shocks. I know Chamberlains do that for $60 per shock.

Just clearing that up, as you still sounded unsure of what you wanted to do.

My experience with compressed springs, They aren't good but they aren't as bad as people make out to be.

Although I've never been in a big car like a mark II with compressed springs I'd imagine the weight wouldn't help anything.

yeah u can get ur springs compressed , i can do it for u , the cost is $350 . I have had it done for quite a few of my customers ,especially mitsi sigmas and oldschool legacys as the lowering spring doesnt lower it . And in all the cases it has been very good and cause the springs are compressed properly , u do not lose any spring rate
