There was a nice comparison made on mr2oc by one of the aussie guys comparing his old ct20b with his gt35/40

The gt35/40 (with the small 0.63 ex housing) would actually show 1-2psi before 2000rpm, just like the ct20b, yet it took until around 5000rpm to show full boost of something like 18psi or so, whereas the ct20b would have the same pressure at around 3500rpm. However 1-2psi on the gt35/40 was a whole lot more power than the ct20b and it was apparantly a joy to drive around, very streetable. The length of time to full boost was longer but the threshold before you saw boost was the same.
