1UZ-GE

Postby 20v_rollaboy » Wed Mar 01, 2006 10:14 pm

I was looking for a wiring diagram for an Apexi SAFC and came across this. Notice the bits in bold, I remember from a previous post someone was asking why the 1UZ was never made as a GE. Well according to this it is.

So is this bollocks or is it true??

Im guessing its an error - the people that made that list proably didnt know the 1uz ends with fe so they went with the more common GE...

Ive never heard of a 1UZ-GE...

Hmm just because it comes from one of the world leading car accesory brands it doesnt mean its correct...

I personally think its wrong. Ive Never heard of a soarer Sc400 v8 with a 1uz-ge. :?

If you type 1uz-ge in on google i got 179 websites related.

When i typed 1uz-fe i got 39,400 websites related..

So it seems pretty obvious theres no such thing as a 1uz-ge. My prediction is that its simply a mistake made by people that mix up engine names...

Definitely a typo. If they wanted to get more power from the UZ, they would've started with a GE type head, instead of VVTi'ing the FE head.

Rather than starting a new topic, can I put this SAFC on my 20v :) ?

Or would it be a waste of time and just give me rice points?

(Its the black box with five dials with different rev increments)

Id expect it to make a difference.

Im possibly think of putting a Safc on my honda once i have all the other planed modifications completed. Id think it would work better on a 4age than a non vtec 5 cylinder honda (g20a). But you would never know till you tried it out and have a dyno run of before and after to see if anything has happend... on paper  Im sure you would be able to feel it if the powers gone up at all...
