On a 1600 however I think 400hp from a td05-16g would be bit of a stretch

Are custom plenums worth the extra cash?, Has anyone got any dyno plots for 4agte's showing the differance between Factory N/A and custom made plenum's?. I wont mind spending a bit more if they are worth it?

go for a stage 3 t3/to4e from turbonetics or another reliable manufacturer. avoid xspower and all that bulshit. t3/to4e's are pretty wallet friendly, and are easy to source, but the only let down is its wet floating bearings not roller bearing, and with your drag setup a quick spooling turbo would be alot more efficient, e.g a GT35 or 35/40r.
with the ecu, ive heard all good things about the megasquirt. Other options include the link V5, im using one and has had very good results tunability wise, and also there is alot of link knowledge out there within the dyno tuning community! Give kelford cams a call about your head, one of their employess has an insane 4agte mr2, and just down the road at NZEFI a guy there has a 310 hp atw ae86 4agte, using the standard 16v head and standard bottom end, doing 11 seconds on the strip!! its all in the tuning

Those cars sound insane.
was thinking of giving kelfords a call, but i do have a set of cams i had made for my old N/A 4AGE.
I'll try find the specs on them and post them up
I think they were something like 281 degrees duration, cant remember the lift.

you got a decent explanation as to why stay away from xs power turbos? barry has been gettign shit loads of power out of his and has had no problems with them at all. please dont bring up about the manifolds cracking or the ONE turbo from about 6 or so years ago that the compressor split in half. they actually have some decent stuff.

The turbo Im using is XSPower, I read that one about the Comp housing splitting, there were comments that it was a hoax, alot of other people have had real good results from these Turbos. Barry said he had them xrayed and the density checked and they came back top quality and he was getting some good times down the 1/4 also.

There was a couple of good threads on this a while back, have a bit of a search, cant remember what the name of them were.

Try (440, 550, injectors, as a search) should bring up a few hits

I think it should be fine as long as you use proper fittings and proper braded fuel lines.
