LINK for standard 4age - good idea?

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Wed Mar 15, 2006 3:07 pm

i'm not too familiar with LINK computers etc, basically I want to know is there any purpose or advantage (particularly performance-wise) in getting a plug-in link for a standard 4age bluetop engine. the engine hasn't had any other sort of mods, it is n/a.

i have had people tell me that a link would make my engine alot quicker even though it is non-turbo but i've also had people saying no it won't. it is basically an intercept link which allows you to adjust fuel ratios.

good idea or a waste of money? :?:

could be both.

good idea if ou plan on changing things that need a big change in fuel/other engine management.

waste of money if you don't plan on making any changes in future.

When in doubt, down and out.

sorry, probably used the wrong term. i think its wired up through the standard ECU and just modifies the information that it recieves and passes on to the ECU or something.

I don't plan on doing anything to the engine any time soon; definitely nothing major like turboing it or anything.

For the money you'll be spending, don't bother. If your not planning on working the engine, you could much much better use the money on beer, women, or similar.

the old 'intercept link' ??

I wouldnt think it would give you any performance increase on a standard engine. In fact with many hours tuning, you may be able to get stock performance.
