It sounds like he buttoned off the gas because of the wheel spin so the weight shifted towards the front of the car. He had some opposite locking on, it snapped back the other way and the car steered itself into a roll. Are the rumors of oil on the track true? It looked a hand full off the line either way.

How come it was a flag start? :?

Edit: After taking a few more looks at it. The video is a bit hazy where it starts to go wrong because the camera moves just as it begins to slide. Rather than weight transfer from decel, it looks more like the car hops either from loss of traction and the suspension doing funky things or the track isn't perfectly flat?

Anymore angles to look at it?

Flag start because a car a couple of runs previous took out the timing gear.

I dont believe there was oil there, no.

The footage thats been played on the news is the 'other' angle. I havent seen that yet.

They were most probably V8 lovers

I've seen the footage a few times over the last week.Pretty hard to tell what exactly went wrong, but it went wrong fast, and luckily he wasn't up to top speed when it happened! Man that thing can launch though!

looks liek it was a little sidways off the start and it caught him on the snap back under shift
then the grippy high profile rear tireas and speed took care of the rest

if you listen you can hear teh revs pickup as it starts to snap back then grip

happens with rails fairly often

just means hes driving the car hard and on the limit

Can't remember where I "heard it" but I did hear mention of an axle breaking - which would explain - what's it called - torque steer????
