KYB's for my AE92...

Postby peas » Thu Mar 16, 2006 6:15 pm

I have just tried to fit my new shocks and have come across a problem.

I dropped the front strut out and after cursing and swearing a bit at the poor fitment of the spring and shock to the hub, realised that they were for the rear which left me in a predicament. I was holding a complete sealed strut that I had just dropped out of the front and "Stocks" had supplied me inserts! I called them and they said that for the AE92 only inserts were listed, called Repco and they tell me that they have both available in Monroe!

Does anyone know of the corresponding KYB number for front struts for an AE92 (4A-GZE)? I thought that they were standard fitment so surely they must do them.

same thing happened to me with the celica.

I needed sealed ones but I was given inserts.

I can find the part number on the KYB site for my ones but the dealer(supercheap rang) says they dont have it

refund declined because I had it for too long while waiting for my springs to arrive. ah well.

Problem solved, seems you just have to talk to the right person.

When in doubt, down and out.

Thats who I was dealing with. Apparently the GTi which is all they have listed takes inserts but some ofther AE9# models have struts listed. Mines not a GTi though but hey sometimes you jsut have to take what fits.
