Car freight prices please

Postby mikuni » Mon Mar 20, 2006 2:01 pm

I was wondering if anyone here has freighted a vehicle across the country. If so who did you use and what price was it?

We are looking at getting a car up from christchurch to hamilton so obviously it needs to cross the straight also.
Any help would be awesome!

Yeh I'm thinking trains are guna be the cheapest. We have rung around heaps and I have searched the forum because I know there was a thread about this months back but I can't find anything.
Sure the car can be driven, its quite costly to fly down there then pay petrol for a 6 cylinder to drive over 1000kms (roughly) though.
Plus its a 1955 non-toyota so I'm not sure if it'll like the drive.

roughly half the cost of trucking it.
