Recommend any mechanics?

Hey was just wondering if there's any mechanics you would recommend in the PN area, or any with JZA80 Supra know-how.
Cheers.

Cheers for that guys, car is making some noises and tossing up between going to mechanic or getting off my arse and doing it myself. Pretty sure theres just a bolt loose in the suspenison assembly somewhere and maybe some loose panels, but my jack is useless for this car :(

Sweet that answers one of my questions for when I'm up there (this Saturday officially :D )

Foggy headlamps - use brasso, thats what we used on ours to de-fog them and it worked minta.

Cool, was that on plastic or glass lights? Theres a bit of documentation on the mkiv site, involves putting your headlights in the oven to split them open, using novus plastic polish on the inside and wet-sanding the outside...I wonder why Toyota went for plastic instead of glass?

Yep used it on Plastic, sadly my starlet has damn plastic lights still... not sure what there reasoning was, perhaps its a weight saving tactic

Use CLR on the inside of the lens, that way you wont have to run the risk of melting your lights in the oven to split them open and it will help remove the lime etc on the inside of the lense :)

QFT. Works brilliant on the outside of my MKIV headlights, you will notice one hell of a difference (from my experience). Haven't bothered pulling mine out of the car to clean the inside though, so they still have the slightly tarnished look to them :?

In the end I went and saw the guys at Challenge Longburn, they were quite good, looked at my car for free :D

I really have to get off my arse and try that plastic polish, set of new headlights is about $1000, and after new tyres equalling about that... ouch!

Thats not a bad quote for headlights. I asked a guy at Albany Toyota and got quote $1200 +GST for a new headlight assembly (excluding bulbs).
The panelbeaters had to get one in from Japan for $650 (through Toyota).

My personal recommendation would be to buy the glass headlights, and get them imported. Think you could pick them up for about $850 Kiwi for a set, plus import fees, etc. And with them being glass, you then don't have to worry about having to clean them all the time. A protective covering wouldn't go amiss on them to stop them chipping/cracking.
