feck that.. wen doin engine blows i like to have at least 5-10 metres of string controlling the throttle, and something solid close by that i can dive behind. doing motor blows may seem like harmless fun, but u gotta think a little out of the square.. wen u gotta motor spining at 6-8000 rpm (or if its 'tecn' could b any were from 10-100000 rpm, who really knows at the intense acceleration all ur really concentrating on is were to land on the moon), any thing that comes flying off is gunna b flying at a feck load of speed, and generally gunna b rather solid. wont b stopping to say hi with a smile on its way past.

we had a mazda thing ages ago we did this to...

make sure you have a fire extinguisher at hand. we didnt, and ended up with the fire brigade coming to help us.

Seems the oil in the sump got so hot it caught fire. kept running while burning though, lol.

Ever seen it done with a rotary?

Seen it tried once, just couldn't keep the fuel up to it.

Will be boring to wantch unless you can get it to either run a bearing first before you start,

or as siad before,

advance the timing so it is detronating.

since you want the car make sure you remove the bonnet, so when you put the new engine in it, there isnt a piston or flywheel stencil in your bonnet 8)

Get it running to some obscene RPM, then blast water down the intake.

Hydraulic lock at 7000rpm should be rather spectacular.

Remember - for it to br truly successful, it has to go "bang" somehow, not just slow down and die...

As many said, plenty of advance, juuuust enough fuel for it to run, HALF empty the oil (more chance of stuff breaking, without it just seizing up)... And stand well clear. You don't want to be near if something lets go explosively - hot oil + metal shards don't agree well with skin and stuff

Bollocks, Chicks dig scars. 8)

It shows that you're hardcore, especially when you drive to the A&E in the car you were trying to blow up, on three cylinders, because the fourth conrod is embedded in your skull. 8)

Dunno, it would probably hold on that. I'm still all for trying nitro mix for radio control cars. That would probably cause a bit of damage.

you should start a poll on

- how to blow it up (gravel, xsv rpm, etc)

and another on

- how it will die (rod, heat, etc)

god i wana see this happen :D

We put some nitro in a nearly empty gas tank in our rb30 berlina. Car didnt run very well for a bit, nothing spectacular.
