Which T50 for 4age ke70?

Postby Hachiroku » Fri Mar 24, 2006 10:14 pm

I'm putting a 4age and t50 into my ke70. I've got a 3a bellhousing. Just wondering whether any old t50 is fine or will I need a specific type?

depends on which spline t50 the bellhousing came off

cause a 20 spline t50 (output shaft) will not fit a 22 spline t50 bellhousing

It's off an Aussie AE71 corolla, 4ac motor. I thought only 4age-t50 bellhousings were 22 spline? And 3au/4ac were 20 spline?

na because late corona t50's tend to be 22 spline and some carinas etc etc, even 5k t40s have 22 splines

i have heard that different spline bellhousings will fit with some modification

i tried putting a 22 spline bellhousing onto a 20 spline box and found it leaked like mad

you can tell if the housing is 20 or 22 spline by looking at it, send me a picture of the rear of yours and i should be able to tell (cause i remember clearly what mine looked like)
