Pink/Green stickers... question :)

Postby Beccyboo » Tue Mar 28, 2006 12:44 pm

On behalf of NRAGED's better half :D

Hey ladies/guys,

Wanted to know what happens when a green sticker is issued, then a pink sticker over top of that? Does the pink sticker void the greenie?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinkin bout buying a car that has been greenied, then the owner vivided (sp?) it out, must have drivin it and been busted, then it got pinkied.

I don't know if the 2nd sticker is a pink sticker because it's faded?

Before anyone asks - yes I have checked out the LTSA site:

http://www.landtransport.govt.nz/public ... n-v2-3.pdf
(bottom of page 11 and top of page 12)

but I still want other peoples thoughts to clarify :)

pink is worse than green.
green can be driven on, pink must be towed.

it will need to be taken thru a testing station to have it removed, even thou it has 2 stickers it will only be one fee,

pink can be driven home on, it all depends on the officer and how much of an arse you are to him.

Thats crazy, I'd say they would have gotten a pretty awesome fine for driving on a green sticker.
When I've gotten them the cop has always let me drive home for pink and on green stickers they allow you to drive to get repairs aswell. They also give you a little pink slip stating your home address and where you got pulled over so that if another officer pulls you over and you're not driving home or for repairs you'll get done.
Anyway thats irrelevant, the testing station will hate you and it costs about $70 to get it taken off, they go hard as checking for stupid stuff and be carefull that they don't try to charge more. I've had one mate who got charged $100 to get his taken off and I only got charged $70 the same day at the same testing station.
The cheaper option is plates, but I'm not sure if you can still get away with that silly stuff.

if you are reffering to re-registering the car with new plates, then be very careful. a mate claimed his plates fell off and had new ones issued, the cop who issued the original pink sticker was far less than impressed to see the same car driving around, so it had a further pinky put on it and heavy fines.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

green stickers can b taken off by your general garage wof station. Pink sticker must b taken off by an on-road or vtnz testing station (well theoretically on-road is vtnz).

AFAIK GREEN stickers are for more than 3 basic wof items failed that wont affect the cars handling or basic safety etc. like.. tints too dark, headlight out and a bald tyre.

and a PINK sticker is for illegal mods, like cut springs, all tyres bald. ur typical idiot boy racer shit.

u get a slip with each sticker containing the reasons for why the sticker was issued. that isnt the fine. fines are on fine paper :). so i would try get hold of that slip so u can find out what it got stickered for.

and i also think a pink out ways a green. if u get a pink over a green i think the green is over ruled by the pink. therefore i think u only have to pay for the removal of the pink sticker :) but muts go through a vtnz station.. and apparently they bring out the big guns.. younger wof inspectors... who dont have impaired sight.. dun dUN DUUUUNNNN.

I disagree. They can, and do issue you with a sticker if you have ANYTHING on your car which makes it un-warrantable, be it cut springs, bald tyres, loud exhaust or tints. You don't need a certain amount of illegalness or anything.
Its completely at the officers discretion as to whether the car is so dangerous that it shouldn't be driven and needs a pink sticker over a green.
