The cheapest and easiest way to go faster is to turbo your 20V, forget engine transplants.

Sh1t you guys are a friendly bunch. Just coz she has different taste doesnt mean you have to bag her. People bitching and being sarcastic is what brings forums like this down. She doesnt have to be a mechanic and do the work on her car herself. Maybe she wants to know what her options are so she doesnt get screwed over by a mechanic. A toyota forum seems a logical place to ask for help doesnt it?
When in doubt, down and out.

Whats your budget, and what are your goals. ie. do you have a power/performance figure in mind.

Answer those questions and you will get some constructive answers.

Exactly what I was thinking, to a new member just makes everyone on here look like a bunch of $&#$% wits with the answers that have been given. A moderator started it all off as well, not that cool ay. Seems to be the same people over and over you see it from too.

And ohhh she has chromes, big deal get over it and yourselves

agreed, I thought I had gone back to primary school..... muppets....

Why would anyone want more power. hmmm, let me think, because having a riced up car with factory motor is a real cool thing to do, I mean, thats where its at aye..........

So my suggestion, Buy a 4agze , maybe even just the bock, its up to you, Im not really a fan of the 20v heads, beacuse I have rad a few things about them. Take off that pointless super charger (my reccomendation for getting rid of it would be through the wind screen of one of the muppets who posted there opionions earlier) Next, grab a link ecu, a nice turbo manfold, decent cooler, and turbo of your choice, also find an lsd diff from the same car if possible. then, fab it all up, tune in link, get bigger injectors and fuel reg... and run 18psi..... fry those tyres and have some fun....

Well I agree to a certain extent.

How many threads go like this?

"Hi, I'm Chris from (Whanganui/ blenheim/dargaville), and I'm putting a (supercharged 1uz/VVTI 2JZGTE/300hp 20v/ BRAP BRAP 20B) into my (AE92/ DX corolla/ /echo). Cool eh! It's going to waste all of your guys crappy cars, that have realistic mods/engines"

Followed by:

*A flurry of technical posts outlining why it would be prohibitively expensive/rediculous*

*comment from original poster saying that they're still going to do it*

*someone who's done it before pipes up, and says that it cost 20 grand to do properly*

*original poster says that he's got a mate that can do it for $800*

*People call him retarded*

*original poster says that he's still going to do it, and he'll prove everyone wrong*

*months pass*

*Original poster doesnt have any money, loses interest in the rediculous idea, buys neons instead*

IMO it's rather easy to spot the dreamers, and people dont bother giving them serious replys, because it's generally a waste of time.

And perhaps it would have received a more serious response, if it was posted in the tech section.

RomanV summed it up quite nicely ...

And I'm sorry, but "4g of mods" don't count when 3g of that was spent on the mags

Yeah, beams motors are a bit blah, but, i have been in an altezza with 5 people doing o's on dry tarmac, and I tell ya, I was very very very impressed, but when you get in one, you can sort of tell hey want a turbo on them.

Good to see someone else taking an fxgt & trying to make it into an individual car, rather than the admitidly decent factory fare.

I looked into the 4agte route, but for the power i was looking at wanting, it wasnt really worth it, so now im slowly looking into a 3sgte, with various mods.
For me anyway, i've never been put off by the naysayers, i like being individual & sticking at something i see as worth while.
My advice to u dragon girl is to set some goals you want to reach, ie hp figures, 1/4 mile time, or what ever you goal maybe & research how your going to get to that goal. & dont be afriad to ask questions if you want advice, just learn to sort the good from the random bable.

Good luck in your quest.

p.s i think gtcrasher is undergoing abit of a transformation with his fxgt, ask him what he's doing.
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983
